The adventure of a small butterfly that through yoga restores the colours at the world
“Even though it is small, for doing great things you just get in the game“
In a gray world in which there is great sadness, Iris a small butterfly rainbow was born. Iris does not know how special she is but she is called to change the world, bringing into play unconditionally. “Just travelling to faraway places and with very special positions you can color everything around you” with these words the wind suggests Iris what to do. So begins the journey of a small but brave butterfly. Iris will meet new friends and, thanks to them, she will find the true way to colour everything around her. the little grumpuy bear Aristide, the swimming and smiling dragon Kara, the wise old turtle Sofia are just some of the many friends who accompany Iris along the way. Each with a story to tell and something to teach.
This story can be read as a normal fairy tale, but can also be experienced dynamically. In fact, during the adventure the protagonist learns some yoga positions that can provide a starting point for a sequence of yoga suitable for children. Colourful and playful illustrations help in the execution of the asanas. You don’t need to be yoga teachers to learn something of the discipline, just wanting to discover a new and wonderful world, which gives physical, mental and spiritual balance.
“… I let myself be lulled by the wind … coming in distant places and unknown. The world was beautiful but sad without colour. The journey lasted for several days and I was starting to get tired when I made a very special meeting that changed my life forever. Among the trees of a forest, a huge dark figure rummaging among the bushes. It was not difficult to approach without making me hear with all the noise that the giant did. I placed it on a branch and I was looking for some ‘massive pile of fur. It was an animal I had never seen before. He must have been a formidable force, seeing the ease with which shook the branches of the larger plants, looking for some berries to eat.
I was more intrigued by the show, until I decided to call it.
“Hello, who are you?” I asked with a loud voice in my body.
“But … who said that? Where are you?”
“I’m here, high above you!”
In fact, to not be overwhelmed by the giant I was flown on the highest branches of a plant.
“Ah there you are! How little you are! And who are you?”
He stood up on his hind legs until his nose was not for my height. I had never seen an animal so big and strong before.
He could eat me in one bite but I was not scared, I felt in my heart that it was a friend.
“My name is Iris and I’m a rainbow butterfly, and what’s your name? “
“I am the bear Aristide and now if you do not mind …” and went off in search of his favorite berries.
“The bear is an animal grumpy” I thought, but I was careful not to contradict him.
“Can I help you pick the berries higher if you want”
“No, I do it alone.”
And he did not need my help as he was so big and fat that he could reach the highest branches and when he could not he bent them with one leg with a terrifying force, to reap the rewards that he liked so much.
“What fruit are you collecting?” I asked him.
“But the butterflies are all chatty like you?”
Aristide told me a bit ‘annoyed.
Needless to say I was upset and didn’t talk to him for a while. I was all sulky on a leaf when to my surprise the bear came down to me, handing me a small wild strawberries.
“Here, you look a bit ‘tired. Where are you from?”
I was too happy! The strawberry was delicious and I was about to meet my first friend bear.
I told him my story, of what the wind had told me and the journey that I had started.
For a few moments the bear sat down to think about my words. The story had intrigued him but he had no idea of the meaning of the words of the wind …”
